Job opportunities fall but pay rises in general insurance

Job opportunities across sectors rose more sharply in February than in January but fell in insurance, according to the latest Reed Job Index.

The report from the recruitment consultancy found that job opportunities rose 17 index points month on month, but that salaries were pegged back to the level of nearly two years ago.

However, in the general insurance sector, the opposite was true. Employer demand decreased by 20 index points to 125 in February, but the salary index actually increased by 6 percentage points on last year.
