Personal lines growth drives up NWP at RSA

RSA has reported UK personal lines Q3 net written premiums were up 13% to £1 036m, with commercial lines up just 2% to £1 282m. Overall the UK was up 7% to £2 318m.

It said UK personal lines saw its best growth in pet and household insurance. RSA said growth in Emerging Markets, Canada and specialty lines had been offset by reductions in UK personal motor and mid-market commercial lines.

RSA reported UK motor rates rose by 19% in personal lines and 14% in commercial. It said household saw a 6% rate rise with commercial lines notching up 5% rises for property but just 2% for liability.

Brokers upbeat on 2024 growth – Aviva

Brokers are more optimistic about growth in the coming year than they have been since before 2020, according to Aviva, with 83% expecting their business to grow compared to 76% last year.
