Royal Bank of Scotland Insurance (RBSI) has assured brokers that NIG will not be impacted by recent office closure plans.

As reported on Insurance Age's website, RBSI has announced it will close 14 of its 27 offices by 2013, as part of previously announced plans to cut 2,000 jobs. The insurer also plans to cut staff numbers at another 12 sites.

The places earmarked for closure include a Direct Line call centre in Glasgow, plus another site in the city, two offices in Birmingham, two in Croydon and two in Bristol.

Other closures will be seen in Farnham, Ipswich, Manchester, Peterborough, Romford and Cardiff
