Claims Underwriting Exchange challenged by competitor database

A new database that permits claims data sharing while protecting commercially sensitive information could challenge the position of the Claims Underwriting Exchange (CUE).

This was the message from James Middlehurst, director of database provider Fraudscreen, who spoke about the company's ambitions at a recent Callcredit insurance seminar.

Mr Middlehurst claimed that a number of insurers had not signed up to the CUE database, which is used by the Insurance Fraud Bureau, because they feared the way the data was shared could put them at a competitive disadvantage.
