Bupa review endangers 300 jobs

Bupa Health and Wellbeing UK could axe up to 300 jobs as part of a restructuring programme.

The healthcare insurer, which has 3,500 employees across the UK, began a 90-day consultation period in March with around 900 of its staff.

A spokesman for Bupa said the company was looking at restructuring the business in order to "ensure it continued to meet the needs of customers and be an efficient, cost-effective business in the long term".

He also claimed the changes would have no impact on the majority of employees.

"At this stage, we estimate that between 200 and 300 people may leave Bupa
