A member survey by The Institute of Insurance Brokers (IIB) has found that 72% of independent insurance brokers believe that insurers buying into the profession will lead to unfair competition.
The IIB research also showed that 43% of firms surveyed intended to remain as they were for next three years, and that 33% were interested in buying other brokerages. When asked whether they would like to merge with another broker, 7% answered yes, while 16% admitted that they might be sold within the next
