Staff training looks likely to come under the Financial Services Authority's (FSA) spotlight in 2006, after brokers were the subject of a thematic review.
The training and competence (T&C) survey was sent out to a selection of brokers in December 2005, with 12 questions, as well as requests for documentation.
Among the questions, the FSA inquired as to whether 'significant changes' had been made to brokerages' T&C programme since the onset of regulation, and how the competence of staff is assessed
