Key issues to be tackled says Peter Hales

Building a stronger relationship between insurers and consumers is the key issue to be tackled if the industry is to prosper, it emerged during discussions at the CII conference. Peter Hales, incoming president of the CII and sales & marketing director of Norwich Union, suggested matters would improve if levels of financial literacy among consumers were raised. He said: "A lack of financial capability deters people from taking advice. We need to tackle the problem of people not understanding
