Organisers of events have been warned to pay greater attention to safety details - or face an increasing number of public liability claims. Paul James, claims director at Insurex Expo-Sure, speaking to delegates at a seminar at The Event Show at London Olympia, said that, despite improving safety standards year on year, 66% of all public liability claims at indoor and outdoor public events were caused by tripping over obstacles or slipping on greasy or wet surfaces.
