In spite of the wide ranging changes and extra resources dedicated to the NHS in recent years, the traditional benefits of private medical insurance (PMI) are still as relevant as ever and still valued by today's consumers, according to research published by Standard Life Healthcare. Its 2004 Annual Consumer Attitudes to Healthcare Survey revealed that 81% of people value waiting a shorter time for treatment, showing no change from last year's results.
