Staff head for exits as workplace conflicts leave bosses floundering

Insurance is lagging behind other UK industries in the awareness and application of conflict management training, according to research.

The survey - Fight, Flight or Face It, co-authored by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development and psychology firm OPP - canvassed 1,000 UK firms in sectors ranging from insurance and construction to agriculture and IT.

In the insurance sector, 34% said that workplace conflict had prompted them to leave a company compared with 24% in other sectors.
