CII calls for over 50s consideration in financial mainstream
The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) has called for the financial services industry to devise products that can be used easily by older people as well as the mainstream market.
In its recently published Thinkpiece paper, 'Inclusive Design: the challenge of an ageing population', the CII has examined how financial products could be made to cater to the needs of older people living with problems such as reduced cognitive ability or dependence on others for carrying out financial tasks. It argued that the industry should look for ways to make general products more easily useable by those with age-related problems rather than creating specialist niche financial services
