Consolidators focus on EBITDA

Management keen to highlight underlying performance

The financial results of the independent consolidators have been the cause of much discussion and debate of late with attention centred on the losses a number of them are producing. However, some of the CEOs of these companies have consistently tried to draw focus away from the ‘paper losses’ and have the market focus instead on their EBITDA performance – earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation.

Judging by the latest available figures, Giles and Jelf have seen their EBITDA
