Tokio Marine Europe is slowly building up its reputation in the UK insurance market, intent on spreading its Japanese parent's ethos of personalised and unwavering service. Michelle Worvell speaks to Alastair Blundell about the insurer's entry into the market and its strategy going forward
It is fair to say that Tokio Marine Europe Insurance has been something of an enigma in the UK general insurance market, and it would be rare to hear its name mentioned by most provincial brokers. Indeed, although the insurer recently joined the ranks of the British Insurance Brokers' Association (Biba) as an associate member, its presence is more likely to be recognised in its traditional Square Mile hunting ground.
