The summer of 2012 may be forever remembered as the time when Great Britain celebrated being British. And we have had a lot to celebrate. A monarch who has ruled over us for 60 years and counting, the UK hosting what promises to be a spectacular Olympic Games and the final year of regulation by the Financial Services Authority (FSA).

But is the latter really something to celebrate? Will history be kind to the longest serving financial services regulator the UK has had during the Queen’s reign
