While schemes are a well-trodden path in distribution, brokers can use their specialist knowledge to branch out their offering and gain a competitive advantage in an increasingly tough market, writes Robin Broughton

Over the past year, Norwich Union (NU) has seen varying areas of growth across different schemes business. In the commercial sector, for example, a number of schemes have been written that were identified in 2007. For household schemes, growth has been steady and for motor, volumes have increased, with five new schemes launched so far in 2008.
