Few issues with insurance receive such widespread media coverage, and evoke such public outcry, as abuse - especially sexual and physical abuse. Yet in the insurance world, many of the real issues surrounding abuse are rarely raised, as the industry's understanding of the problem as a whole remains limited. However, if brokers and insurers are to protect customers effectively, they need to be clear about their position.

One legal decision that fundamentally changed the way abuse claims affected
