Zurich takes aim at the ‘class ceiling’ as it reveals social mobility pay data

Zurich UK has published its social mobility pay data claiming it is the first insurer, and just one of a handful of companies, to do so as it committed to the ultimate goal of smashing the ‘class ceiling’.

The provider has also set out eight initiatives designed to tackle barriers to career progression for employees from lower socio-economic backgrounds (see box at end).

The insurer asked employees to voluntarily share their socio-economic background with 73% responding.

Social mobility is the next step in achieving a truly diverse workplace and I’m proud to say that at Zurich, your socio-economic start in life doesn’t determine your future career.

The cohort included 28% from professional
