Equifax has urged the consumer credit industry to use consumer data
responsibly. The company believes further legislation should be passed
limiting the access to consumer data, in view of recent changes to
availability of the Electoral Roll. Neil Munroe, director of Equifax
Europe, explained: "We are encouraging all lenders who conduct searches on
the Equifax database to properly log them so they don't give a misleading
picture to other lenders."
