A family affair.

Diane Smyth finds that blood really is thicker than water - at least in terms of dictating J&M Insurance's success under a father and son team.

Father and son team Jeffrey and Martin Harris set up J&M Insurance in
1981 and the company has gone from strength to strength on what Jeffrey
Harris describes as "a good combination of youth and age".


He believes that while Martin wants to push forward, he is naturally more
conservative. "Youth and age temper each other," he says.


The company has 40 staff working in two offices and, though it hopes to
expand to 80 staff in the next 18 months, does not plan to set up a
