The Chartered Insurance Institute's Society of Fellows is urging theinsurance industry to react positively to climate change, in order to
prevent soaring property premiums and uninsurability. In a report called
Climate Change and Insurance; implications for UK insurers, the society
states that climate change is a proven fact. The report also points out
that by 2020 some people may be faced with excessively high premiums and
others will have few insurance options, if no action is taken now.
