Filming for television involves a whole host of possible interruptions, from an actor literally breaking a leg to bad weather. This is just one area of media insurance that is full of promise for brokers, says Simon Threadgold.

While recording an episode for the television series Monarch of the
Glen, a film crew accidentally burned down the community hall in Scottish
highlands town Kingussie. This is one example of what can go wrong on a
film set but there are many more. Cameramen get run over by traffic,
actors literally break legs and filming is abandoned during bad
weather.


Insuring film production is not for the faint-hearted. Indeed, media
