The Environment Agency has embarked on a £2m, three-year awarenesscampaign to highlight the dangers of flooding to property. This follows
the severe flooding in the UK last year which left 21 people dead and
caused more than £400m of damage to property, much of it uninsured. The
campaign began last month with Flood Awareness Week, which was launched by
Elliot Morley, the Minister for Flood and Coastal Defence, Ed Gallagher,
chief executive of the Environment Agency (above); and broadcaster
