Lloyd's of London looks set to be heading for a record £14bn capacityfor 2002, as underwriters seek to cash in on rising premiums.
The Association of Lloyd's names has predicted that individual Names will
make a profit for the first time in four years, owing to sharp rate
increases in motor, energy and aviation.
Michael Deeny, chairman of the ALM, said the collapse of Independent had
cut competition and would help keep premiums high.
