Independent's brokers are to have access to an information websitefrom the beginning of 2001.
www.brokerworld.co.uk will provide brokers with information about and
access to products, and an online claims facility. It will also offer news
and a forum for discussions.
The site will provide top quality IT at no cost and cheap deals on various
items. It will be protected by two layers of security.
Andy Hawkes, director and assistant manager at Independ-ent, said: "We
already provide a lot of the information in hard copy and thought why not
provide it in the virtual world? It's a way of improving cost and speed
and of benefitting from the web's real time access. We also think it will
add value for our brokers and improve our relationship with them."
Independent has recently launched a number of web projects.
www.managerisk.co.uk went live on 4 August, offering information and
practical advice on risk management. www.business-risk.com allows selected
brokers to transact small- to medium- sized commercial policies with a
five-year term.
