NFU Mutual is looking at buying more brokers and intermediaries in a
bid to counteract the difficult conditions in the farming sector, by
diversifying into non-core activities.


The mutual insurer, which has 450 offices, has bought a total of six
brokers over the last two years in areas where it has not been previously
represented, in a move to expand its distribution network.


These brokers have served as a base to sell existing NFU farm insurance
policies, but also market a range of private motor
