Uninsured drivers are finding it cheaper to pay fines than get insurance, according to specialist broker Allen & Allen.The average fine for uninsured drivers is £150 plus licence points, but the average insurance premium is £350. Uninsured drivers are pushing up these premiums, with up to 8% of premiums allocated to cover claims against uninsured drivers. An estimated 1 million drivers in the UK are not insured.
