Misys has finally pulled the plug on troubled software system Penta,
and is seeking to migrate its 200 or so remaining users onto its new
System 42.


The software giant bought Penta in 1995 for £2.8m, and since then, has
suffered five difficult years with intermittent transmission failures, and
dissatisfied insurers refusing to guarantee rates.


Many Penta users have switched to other proprietory systems, claiming that
