QBE International Insurance has bought Iron Trades Insurance. The
deal is believed to worth £175m, and is due to be finalised by the end of
January.

Under the terms of the acquisition, the Iron Trades brand will remain and
Robert Hardy will continue as chief executive.

A spokesman for QBE said it is unlikely that the deal will lead to any
redundancies or office closures, as both companies are active in different
areas of the market.
