MCS set to relaunch.
MCS is set to relaunch and rebrand over the next three months. What does the new series of products have to offer?
MCS refers to its three new branded products as 3- 5- and7-series.
The whole range is underpinned by Sector, MCS' windows-based broking
software.
The 3-series is based on the idea of a broker co-operative, with Windsor
Insurance Brokers acting as underwriting agent and MCS providing the
technology.
This will be targeted at provincial brokers with between five and 25
staff.
MCS says the advantages of the system include improved commissions and
rates, an application service provider model with central servers,
centralised e-commerce and internet access.
MCS plans to evolve its existing semi-ASP system, OneLine, into a full ASP
service that is to be called Net.Sector. This new ASP model is the
5-series product. In common with the 3-series offering, Net.Sector will be
a standard version of Sector, run on a thin client basis, from MCS' own
network, SectorNET.
Other than desktop devices such as PCs, windows terminal and so on,
brokers will have no capital costs, instead paying for technology on a
rental basis. This model is aimed at brokers with up to 125 members of
staff.
The 7-series is targeted at larger customers such as banks and the London
market. The 7-series includes many of the tailoring and configuration
tools within Sector that MCS deems too complex for smaller
organisations.
In addition, MCS will shortly be launching e-sector. It claims this is the
most comprehensive point of sale product yet offered to brokers. This new
software will enable brokers to process both insurer originated
Polaris-based products and brokers' own schemes, which can be deployed
either in-house or on the web.
