Insurers are trailing behind other industries in their adoption of
e-commerce. This is the surprise finding of a recent survey carried out by
IT company CMG.


In the second edition of its e.com index, which monitors e-commerce
activities in Europe, CMG reveals that the UK insurance sector derives 8%
of its total revenue from e-commerce, compared with 12% in banking, 15% in
utilities and telecommunications, 13% in retail and 25% in logistics.
