Tough talk at Peebles.

Conversation at the BIIBA conference at Peebles was dominated by the issues of regulation, the Millennium bug and customer care and commitment. Shona Cronin heard the arguments.

The day dawned bright for the start of the 21st annual conference of
the BIIBA Scottish Conference, held at the Peebles Hotel Hydro last month.
However, despite the comfortable familiarity of the surroundings, there
was a definite air of uncertainty about the future, as broker delegates
debated what would replace the Insurance Brokers Registration Council.

In his address on the subject, Mike Williams, chief executive, BIIBA,
urged brokers to maintain their registration with the IBRC
