The government has laid a Parliamentary Order stating that the Financial Services Authority will be regulated under the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act. The FSA will not be able to intercept telephone calls, letters or emails but will be able to obtain details of telephone numbers or find out when and to whom calls or emails were sent.
