In particular, it was hoping for a level playing field and a renewed image
of professionalism brought about by the arrival of a single,
representative industry regulator. It had also been promised an electronic
common trading platform whereby brokers, software houses, insurers and
service providers could communicate and transact business, quickly,
cheaply and efficiently.
