Fusion is including legal expenses protection for all its commercial combined policyholders.

The protection is the first in a series of additional risk management benefits that will be offered to brokers and their clients in the next two months.

The cover will be underwritten by Das Legal Expenses Insurance.

The standard cover offers a £100,000 limit for all legal costs and includes cover for employment legislation defence costs. The product also provides a model employment contract to manage disputes, protection against employee compensation awards for alleged breach of statutory rights, statutory licence protection and contract dispute cover, property protection and cover for tenancy disputes, and contractual disputes cover.

The legal defence cover includes criminal prosecutions arising from the company's business activities, data protection and health and safety actions.

Graeme Sutton, marketing manager of Fusion, said: "Health and safety employment issues are at the top of clients' agenda these days - hardly surprising when 14 new bills were introduced in the last session of parliament relating to employment law.

"We believe we must offer our clients practical assistance and essential policy cover. We hope to offer brokers more risk management products during the next few months."

The provision attaches to all renewals and is available to its existing brokers on a net-rated basis.
