Coventry-based corporate medical provider Revelation Healthcare has launched a service which allows companies to treat staff overseas. Overseas Treatment Option is part of Revelation Healthcare's corporate trust schemes. The scheme works in conjunction with sister company Medical Care Direct, and can organise overseas healthcare treatment, including flights and accommodation.

Malcolm Jones, managing director of Revelation Healthcare, said overseas treatment is a growing market and that 150,000 operations from overseas were carried out in India last year. He said cost savings were significant and that Revelation would work with clients to advise as to where best to treat staff.

At the moment, Revelation deals with 30 brokers and manages funds of around £3m.

Jones commented: "As medical tourism continues to grow and insurance premiums rise, we are looking at new ways to help organisations cut the cost of healthcare while retaining the benefit for staff.

"We see the overseas treatment option becoming increasingly attractive for companies in the future and our trust funds allow companies to benefit from the available savings while offering access to equivalent if not superior facilities to their staff."

Revelation works with clients to build up trusts and charges an annual administration fee. Jones said there were opportunities for brokers and independent financial advisers to gain a percentage of this fee. In addition to the trusts, Revelation offers stop loss insurance which is placed via three Lloyd's underwriters.
