Stockport-based software house CDL has no imarket timetable and is reliant on brokers taking up its new CDL Strata broking system in order to access the portal. Furthermore CDL Strata is undergoing a slow roll out.

However, CDL said it is fully committed to the project. Nigel Phillips, business strategist at CDL, said: "An important development for CDL Strata is to ensure that it will accommodate imarket functionality." He added: "Change is difficult to effect, however, and it may be that delivering increased automation to the commercial lines sector through imarket will ultimately prove to be more of a case of digital evolution rather than revolution."

Rick Slater, general manager at CDL, said brokers' top priorities were dealing with the threat of internet aggregators by developing their internet offerings. He added there was no "discernible" pressure from broking clients to introduce imarket sooner rather than later.

Slater added the loss of Budget Retail as a client would impact recurring revenues. Turnover reached £14.5m in the last fiscal period.
