Liberal Democrat MPs have joined the mounting protest against abackdoor tax on insurance premiums. Although a number of Labour MPsunofficially back the National Campaign Against Insurance Premium Tax(NCAIPT), the majority of the support has previously come from theConservatives. Campaign director Philip Allott said the pressure-group wasbuoyed by the Lib Dem support: "We now have all-party backing for ourfight and we will be increasing the pressure on Chancellor Gordon Brownand his Treasury
