Allianz Insurance has posted stable figures for the first half of 2007, as a result of its commercial income and reserve releases.

Driven by significant increases in premium income through commercial lines (up 12.7%), the insurer's total net written premium for the period up to 30 June was £687.3m, with overall profit before tax rising by around 3% to £105.4m. Its combined ratio rose just 0.1% to 95.5%.
