The Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) has announced consumers may be entitled to up to £48,000 compensation if they have lost money from dealings with any of the 33 firms it has declared in default. Loretta Minghella, FSCS chief executive said: "This highlights the importance of a fund of last resort for those consumers who would otherwise have nowhere to turn.
