FCA spends £1.7m on staff expenses

Regulator reveals staff spending hit £1.7m with £136,432 spent on foreign travel.

The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) spent over £1.7m in 2014 on staff expenses which included entertaining, car hire, taxis, domestic and foreign travel.

The revelation follows the news that the regulator is set to raise fees for brokers by 8.5% in 2016.

The figures, obtained by Insurance Age via a Freedom of Information Request showed that total spend was £1,728,433 with £79,131 going on staff entertaining, annual events and business entertaining.
