Andy Homer to become Biba chairman

The British Insurance Brokers’ Association (Biba) has appointed Andy Homer as its new chairman, replacing Patrick Smith.

Mr Homer, former CEO at Towergate, will take on the role in January 2012.

He has been in the insurance industry for 40 years, and has previously held the positions of Motor Insurance Bureau chairman and Chartered Insurance Institute president.

Mr Homer said he was honoured to have been selected, and commented: “It’s important to make a contribution to the industry and I’m pleased to have this opportunity to give something back to broking.
