Biba criticises RICS transparency report

The British Insurance Brokers’ Association (Biba) said it is disappointed with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) final report Transparency in professional fees.

Eric Galbraith, Biba chief executive, said: “Having read the final report, I confess to being disappointed with the recommendations in respect of commission disclosure on insurance and am surprised by the prominence this subject is given.”

Mr Galbraith added: “The RICS has elected to take on the role of the FSA designated professional body status for its members and is now trying to impose these conditions on the rest of the market. Whilst a number of our members, as part of their own business
