Allianz Cornhill to switch 400 UK jobs to India

Allianz Cornhill plans to move 400 UK jobs to India by the end of 2005 in a move to reduce its cost base. The company outlined its plans to staff this morning.

John Knowles, director of IT and offshore operations, Allianz Cornhill UK said it planned to set up five seed projects across its business units based at its own offshore subsidiary company in India called Allianz Cornhill Information Services.

The seed projects will be in its commercial lines, broker personal lines, animal health, schemes and direct general business units.

The company said processes involved would include data processing and some of the company’s call-centre activities. It
