Lloyd's ceo Richard Ward has sent a letter to the ceo of every market firm outlining plans to improve the way that contracts are checked at Lloyd's, with the aim of making the whole process more efficient and providing a better service to the customer.

The letter, which was sent out on the 22 May 2006, stated that achieving reform of business processes was one of Lloyd's key strategic aims.

In the letter Mr Ward said: "It is pleasing to see good progress in the market towards achieving contract
