The results of Marsh's annual global study, Limits of Liability 2006, highlighted that since 2004 UK firms have not increased their levels of insurance protection limits, despite increased litigation, product recalls and supply chain risks. When comparing companies year-on-year for three years, Marsh found that the average limits purchased increased by only 1.8% in 2006 to just over £45m, the same figure as 2004 following a drop in 2005.
