New research from Everest, the home security firm, has revealed that around 10 million British homeowners have taken out home contents insurance but do not have a burglar alarm. The company says that installing an alarm could save people up to £118m a year on their home contents insurance premiums as well as reduce the risk of burglary, which on average costs victims £3,268 each.
