UK insurers' profits per customer have more than doubled since last year but, despite this recovery, they still lag behind other financial sectors, according to a survey of the top 20 insurers.
The research, conducted by Pitney Bowes Group 1 Software, showed that UK general insurers generated £35.10 profit per customer in 2006, up 51% from £23.20 in 2005.
