A device designed to prevent thatch fires has been launched by ThatchGARD. The system is the first of its kind and alerts thatched property owners to the risk of fire before it starts. Temperature censors continuously monitor the thatch, alerting a control unit which sounds an alarm once it reaches levels which may cause the thatch to ignite.
