Allianz Insurance stood accused of undermining its broker distribution channel, after it sent marketing material for Cornhill Business Direct to clients who had used brokers to purchase their insurance.

The issue was raised on Insurance Age's online Broker Forum by a broker who reported that two of his clients had received the mailing, just as their policies were up for renewal. The mailings, which were addressed directly to the financial directors of the firms, openly encouraged
